when she held onto me in Albert Park at 6.12pm and the sun splattered purple across Auckland's young skyline - and I remember her arms locking with mine down Queen street -

the night was colourful

she laughed like neon lights smearing the afternoon's tears

and time was the pickpocket

waiting by Britomart - I crossed

over not knowing the vibrance

and the saturation of the mechanical

grey in the station could overwhelm

the city's blue and orange but

when she held onto me

in Britomart Train Station at 6.53pm

I remember - the night was

colourful and it seeped into

the fabric of white sheet dreams.
