Beginning the month on a very thankful note, I want to extend my appreciation towards Fleeting Daze Magazine and Purely Liminal Magazine for accepting my works in their forthcoming first issues. This is beyond amazing, with the first issue for the Purely Liminal Magazine out on March 5.

I'm really so proud to have how to herald the new earth and Dinah and her daughters out into the world. These two poems mean a lot to me. With herald, I wanted to address the threat of nuclear wars and simultaneously weave in religious themes into the work. In my head, if we fuse together religious and political powers, it is easy to have the world end in chemical flames.

Building on the religious themes, Dinah and her daughters is based on the story in Genesis about a girl named Dinah, who was raped at a young age. Jewish scholars say that Dinah could have been from 6 to 15 years old at the time when she was sexually abused. This really spoke out to me because this is a serious issue, with human trafficking still on the rise. I split the poem into two parts, one for Dinah and one for her daughters, metaphorically speaking. Dinah is not said to have had children, but I wanted to also write for (to, with?) the other women who went through a similar experience. It is meant to highlight the terrible nature of this grotesque act, and in no way glorifies it.

Thank you again to Fleeting Daze and Purely Liminal for accepting my works. I cannot wait to see you guys take off! Check out my updated works here.
